Obviously I SUCK at keeping up with my blog. I am a dedicated blog follower (especially teacher blogs!) yet I can't seem to sit down a write a post every once in awhile. Most of the time its because I feel as if people are not interested in what I have to say...other times I am just plain lazy. Lol.
Life has been pretty uneventful this summer which honestly is just the way I like it. Hahaha. I've been enjoying spending time with my family and friends. I am working for my aunt taking care of my two cousins who are a handful at times but honestly I love every minute I get to spend with them.
In other news, I am now *OFFCIALLY* a certified teacher in the great state of Texas. I can't even begin to describe how accomplished I feel as a person and as an educator. I get giddy everytime I think of my future as a teacher and all the lives I hope to touch. I only wish my dad was here to share in the excitement with me. I have also applied for my student teaching placement and keeping my fingers crossed that I will end up in Frisco! I am so pumped for my future!
So yeah this is just a brief update on my life for all of you who care to read :) will try to update more often...

Lack of Reading
Soo I haven't posted in awhile, but thats mostly because I'm pretty aware that no one is reading my blog because I only have 2 followers. How lame is that? lol.
Anyways, Intern 1 is going great! Although I am SUPER tired once I get back to my dorm and tend to take little cat naps during the day, which, if you know me, is really unusual. It just gets to the point where I literally can not keep my eyes open for one more second! lol! But yeah, I absolutely adore my class! They are all so sweet and friendly. Seriously, there is not one child in there that I am not in love with! Makes me so happy :) Things are going to be picking up next week and I am going to begin pre-assessing my small group which is kind of nerve-wracking, but my group is SO awesome so I know they will give me a break :)
Not much else is going on in my world at the moment. Mostly just lots of school. I can't wait for the day that I am doen with college. I know, everyone says I am going to miss this and I know that to some extent, I will. But I just cant tell you how excited I am to start my life as a teacher and to see what new experiences life still holds for me :) That's not so bad, is it? :)

ABC and 123
So I finally got my intern 1 placement for the spring 2011 semester! I will be interning at Huntington Elementary School in stupendous second grade! I can not even begin to explain how excited I am! I have always wanted to be a second grade teacher, but never let myself get my hopes up because like EVERYONE and their mom wants to be a second grade teacher. I really think this is a good grade for me though! The kids are still young and love school and still think you are the coolest thing since silly bands :) I am like seriously beside myself with excitement and counting down the days until February 1st, which will be my first day at the elementary school! You would think I was going to Disney World or something...lol! I have never been more sure of the fact that I want to be a teacher and that I feel that it is my calling. I have felt the call to education since I was in first grade! I even had a little school kit that came with worksheets and a grade book, etc. I used to make my brother sit in my room while I "taught" him! He didn't like that game very much :) Now that I am nearing the end of my journey to my dream job and I can finally see the light at the end of the LONG tunnel, I can hardly believe it. And at the same time, I'm wondering whats taking so long! I am constantly catching myself visualizing my future classroom and praying for a job in Frisco ISD when I haven't even applied yet! I think its safe to say, I have found my place in life, career wise :)
My new SFA teacher bag with my name on it!!
(its written in PURPLE!)
So I found this idea on another blog and I've decided to try it out myself!
- First of all, I'm loving my new teacher bag! I can't wait to jazz it up with my mom! :)
- I'm loving this semester!
- I'm loving that I'm visiting home this weekend. Ready to see my family and John!
- I'm loving Teen Mom 2. I think its safe to say that I am addicted :)
- I'm loving that Brooke and Julian are getting married on One Tree Hill next week! Its about time!

And so the spring semester begins...
Well today was Day 1 of my internship. Another step in my journey to becoming a teacher! It was a really awesome day filled with loads of new information and the anticipation of stress, but rewarding experiences :) I seriously can not wait to get started! I have known since I was a little girl that teaching was my calling in life and to be so close to what my goal for so long has been quite honestly feels amazing, yet frustrating. I'm ready to achieve it already! lol!
Today was hard in the sense that it was another big step in my life that I did not get to share with my dad. I only hope I can make him proud during this journey. I know he is watching over me and will be with me every step of the way...
On a happier note, I really enjoyed spending time with my friend Victoria today! We had a really good talk and I am so happy that I have her to share this intern experience with...even if we are not at the same location.
Well tomorrow is another day of classes and waking up at the awful hour of 7:30...although I should be thankful for this considering once we start going out to the schools I will have to be up even earlier! Sometimes I really wish I was a morning person...well thats all for now! Stay tuned for my experiences as an elementary intern! :)

Random Acts of Kindness and Stars
So the past couple of days have been pretty evetnful and when I say eventful, I dont mean that my world has completely changed or something drastic has happened. LOL. For those of you who really know me, you know this is always a possibility :) But really, yesterday I was reminded that there really is goodness left in people and that sometimes people still take the time to show it. Yeah so now it is story time! ...
So my mom and I went out to dinner at Benihana last night as a treat to ourselves. So we are sat at a full table which includes six other people besides ourselves. Of course, the situation is awkward at first because here are three different groups of people who do not all know eachother and you are sitting next to somebody you dont know. Well, at least thats what goes through my mind. Could be just me. So yeah the lady who is sitting next to me finally turns to me and strikes up a conversation by asking where I go to school. My mom and I proceeded to have a good conversation with her and her husband for the duration of the meal discussing various topics such as football, movies, life in general. Finally her husband pays for their meal and complains of his leg bothering and asks his wife if they could please be on their way (she was still chatting with us). We said our goodbyes and thanked them for the conversation. When they left the table I asked my mom if she was ready to go. She said yes, and that the husband had paid for a meal. i was like WHAT? She said the waitress informed her that he had asked to pay for our meal and he didnt even give us a chance to thank him! Crazy, right? I know.
...
okay end of story, but the point is that this man was so kind to my mom and I when he totally did not need to be and I was so blown away by it. All the way home I was wondering what made him want to pay for our meal and granted, its just a meal, but its not something that people just do all the time, ya know? It really got me to thinking about Rachel Scott from the Columbine shooting and the message she strated and that her father now delivers all over the world. Start a chain reaction of kindness. Do something nice for someone else and they will do something in return and so on. I immediately felt the need to do some random act of kindess as soon as possible, but I am not even sure what to do, but then I realized that when the moment presents itself I will know and I wont be looking for gratitude or recognition, just for that feeling that I continued the chain and kept Rachel's message alive! I would now like to thank that man for being so kind to my mom and I and thank Rachel Scott for being the change we needed to see in the world. Remember how good it feels to do something nice for someone else? If not, then you should try to do it soon. It will make you feel amazing.

So on a lighter note, today was pretty awesome too! I got to spend time with a friend I have known since I was four years old! That would be Miss Ashley Allen! John and I met up with her and her friends at a Dallas Stars open practice to watch those hot hockeys boys in action! We then waited for awhile afterwards to get some photos with some of the players. It was so great to spend time with my old friend. its so great to know that after all these years, we can still get together and have an AMAZING time together! Well thats all I have for today...goodnight readers!

Four Things...
So I found this List of Four Things on a friend of mine's blog and it looked like fun so this will be my new post! Enjoy!
four shows I watch:
One Tree Hill - I watch this religously. It is seriously my favorite show ever. I really can relate to the characters. My favorite was Peyton, but sadly Hilarie Burton is no longer on the show. The character of Haley, played by Bethany Joy Galeotti has now taken the favorite spot. Sadly, the show is in its last season and I feel like I will be saying goodbye to my teen years when it is finally off the air.
16 and Pregnant / Teen Mom - okay, its no secret that I LOVE babies/children and so these shows really captivate me. I understand that people do not approve of them, but I seriously enjoy viewing the lives of these girls who are struggling to make decisions and keep their lives in order while having a baby to raise. Plus the babies are just so darn cute :)
Dancing With The Stars - I absolutely ADORE dancing and I miss dancing everyday. This show takes me back to my dancing days and inspires me to maybe try to learn some new types of dancing. Plus I love Derek Hough!
Vampire Diaries - a guilty please. And Paul Wesley. Need I say more?
four things I am passionate about:
Children. Everything and anything that concerns them and how they learn. I seriously can not wait to become a teacher and to enrich the lives of my students and to learn from them as well.
My family. and not just my immediate family, but my extended family as well. Without ALL of them, I would be lost.
My friends. This includes EVERYBODY from childhood friends to boyfriends to current friends, etc. These people have helped make me into the person I am today and I couldnt be moe grateful. I love them all!
Music. I seriously could not live without it. I love how it takes me back to different times in my life, good or bad, and gives me clarity into life. love love love music :)
four phrases I say a lot:
"i know right?"
"That which does not kill us, makes us stronger"
"I'm fine."
"love you" you can't say it enough.
four things I've learned from the past:
worrying only makes the situation worse.
kindness goes a lot further than choosing to be rude.
everything happens for a reason.
love like there is no tomorrow.
four places I'd like to go:
England
Italy
Wilmington, NC
Ireland
four things I did yesterday:
Spent time with John. Always a good thing :)
Had a good conversation with my mom on the way home from picking her up from work. The little moments always matter.
Realized that my dad really and truely is watching over me.
Watching the season premiere of the bachelor with my mom :) good times
four things I am looking forward to:
becoming a teacher. can. not. WAIT! :)
living on my own. I can not wait to experince this independence and to decorate my own place and have a place to call home that is mine.
Healing. I miss my dad so much, but I look forward to the day when I can start to heal.
the futre itself. I am excited to see what my future has in store for me!
four things I love about winter:
Magic. Winter is so magical. The holidays and the feelings and the snow. Just everything.
Christmas. My alltime favorite time of the year, although now slightly tinged with sadness because it was my Dad's as well.
Scarves and Hats. They are all just SO cute.
The food. OMG. I love food in the winter time. Soups and Chilli and just everything. YUMMO!
So there you have it. Hope all is well in your life and you feel a like you know me just a little better. Adios!

New Beginnings
Ok so my blog is finally coming together! I am pretty happy with the current layout and I hope you are too! If you have any suggestions, please feel free to comment! Anyways, I think this will do for now. I'm sure I will get bored in a few months and want to change it again because that just how I roll :)
So anyways thats about it for now. I am lacking inspiration for a blog post at the moment, but have no fear, there will be a new one soon :)
