Holiday Season

So I made it through the Christmas season. The first without my Daddy and my brother. I'm not gonna lie, it was hard, but I'm so happy to have made it through and with few tears at that! I had a great Christmas Eve. I spent most of the day with my mom and Doug...mostly doing last minute wrapping! lol! Then we headed over to Doug's sister's family's home (if that makes sense) to see the Brownings! Of course that was fun, as usual. I enjoyed seeing Greg and Sean and exchanging gifts! Then I went to pick up John and we went to his sister's house to exchange gifts with his older sister, brother-in-law and niece! Sooo much fun and laughter! John got me some great gifts that I will treasure forever, including a charm that says "Daddy's Girl" I almost cried when I opened that one. Then, of course, I came home (after getting lost in Rowlett, no less) and participated in our family Christmas Eve tradition of opening one gift under the tree and big suprise...it was Christmas pajamas!! I loved them and am actually currently wearing them as I write this. lol! Anyways so we all passed out and woke up bright and kinda early to open gifts. I was very pleased with everything I got from everybody, but mostly with all of the charms for my charm bracelet that various people got me and with the purse my mom and doug got me :) My mom also got me some great new clothes, including a cardigan that I LOVE and cant wait to wear to the elementary school that I will be interning at this semester! I'm going to look like a teacher for the first time ever! hahaha! Thanks mommy! :) I could not have asked for a better Christmas, especially under the circumstances.

I also got to go visit Justine on Christmas Day. I can not even begin to express how great it was to see her again! Even though huge gaps of time seperate the times we see eachother, everytime we get together it feels like just yesterday we were in high school and up to our teenage antics. We had a good long conversation and even went to Holiday in the Park this past Thursday! We had sooo much fun! I can say that I am truly happy to have been reunited with my friend this holiday season and I am going to be sad to see her go again. I welcomed the new year with her last night by watching movies and enjoying eachothers company and I could not have asked for a better way to start the new year.

I have a lot of hopes and dream wrapped up in this new year. So many new things are going to be happening to me and I glad to say I have an awesome support system of family and friends by my side. Either way, I figure 2011 is going to much better than 2010, but it is hard entering a new year knowing my dad didnt make it this far. One thing I like about the new year is the unknown of the future year and the oppurtunity to change things around.I really can not wait to see what this year holds for me but mostly i'm hoping for healing and closure and maybe a little less drama :)

I hope you new year is everything you want it to be. I want to remind anyone who is reading to treasure the people who are close to you for they are the ones who will get you through your toughest times. The holidays are all about family and remembering to love one another and to treat one another with love. If it wasn't for certain people like my mom, my suesue, John, Christian, Reagan, my gigi, Doug, cousins, etc, I would not have made it though the rest of this year as well as I did. Thank you all for the love you have surrounded me with. I will always love you all.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to Everyone!
